Pamela Duncan

Counsellor and Psychotherapist

Previous to moving to York in 2004 Pamela had established and worked in private practice for ten years. Also a large part of her counselling and psychotherapy career to date has been in the NHS practising as a staff counsellor.

Pamela is an accredited member of the British Association for  Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) working within and abiding by  their code of ethics. Pamela gained her Diploma in Humanistic Counselling in the year 1994 and a post graduate Diploma in  Integrative Psychotherapy in the year 2002.

Pamela's other interests and issues are eating distress, post trauma stress and child abuse. In 1982 Pamela qualified as a youth and comunity worker. Pamela coninues to work with young people in various settings. She is now a trained play therapist and childrens counsellor. This Autumn 2007 Pamela intends to train in play and drama therapy enabling her to work more effectively with  children and young people.

As a humanistic practitioner Pamela approaches the therapeutic alliance offering support, respectful challenge and with holistic inquiry.
