Ka Huna Hawaiian Massage & Pregnancy Massage

Ka Huna Hawaiian Massage - What is it?

Ka Huna bodywork originated in the South Pacific. This form of massage provides a holistic approach to healing by balancing the body-mind in its physical, emotional and spiritual dimensions.

Practitioners use their hands, forearms and elbows and move around the treatment table working with energy while applying soft and deep tissue massage. Music is played and the practitioner attunes the follow of the massage to harmonize the various rhythms with the client’s mind-body-soul.

Who can benefit?

Ka Huna offers treatment possibilities for people suffering from stress, depression, exhaustion, physical discomfort and injuries, confusion, grief or loss. It can also help if you are dealing with ongoing illness, work or relationship issues.

What to expect.

The therapist will consult with you about your current state of physical, mental and emotional health.

During the massage it helps to focus your attention on your breath as this helps to energize you and dissolve tension.  If you feel any discomfort please communicate this to your practitioner. A session will last for approx 90mins to 2 hours.

Pregnancy Massage

Massage has great benefits for the pregnant woman. With extensive changes and extra tension in the muscular skeletal system, caused by hormones and a shift in your centre of gravity, having a massage can be extremely beneficial.

This massage is carried out with comfort and safety in mind and will be conducted in whatever position is comfortable for the patient with additional support of pillows. Lower back pain can be relieved as well as muscle and joint strain from the upper back, neck and shoulders.

Many women suffer sciatic pain during pregnancy and safe remedial techniques can  be used.

It is safe to massage after the first trimester.
