Jenny Waddington

BA (Hons), H.G. Dip. P

Jenny is an accredited Human Givens Therapist who has found this clear sighted approach to counselling consistently helpful and practical.

Jenny originally trained and worked as secondary school English teacher and also spent many years as an editor/writer. In addition to her work as a Human Givens Therapist, Jenny does voluntary bereavement work at a local hospice. She is a Member of the Human Givens Institute (HGI) and of the European Therapy Studies Institute (ETSI).

Jenny is able to help with a wide variety of emotional difficulties including stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction and phobias. She has a particular interest in working with bereavement difficulties, chronic pain management and chronic fatigue syndrome/ME/fibromyalgia.

Sessions usually last between an hour and an hour and a quarter. Jenny will first find out about you and the difficulties you are experiencing and will often teach you a few relaxation methods which will enable you to tackle your difficulties more easily. If you have suffered a traumatic experience, she will help you deal with this using a fast, highly effective method which does not cause you further distress. You will have the chance to work out realistic and achievable goals for change and agree on strategies to help you achieve these goals. Activating your own resources so you can regain control of your life as quickly as possible will be a high priority. Treatment ends when you are happy that you can continue living a healthy life without regular assistance. Most people can be helped in 4 to 6 sessions although this is not a hard and fast rule.

Jenny is completely committed to helping people discover and use their own potential and to regain their balance and enthusiasm for life.
