Gail is an accredited Psychotherapist using the Human Givens approach. She is a Registered Member of the Human Givens Institute (HGI) and also a member of The European Therapy Studies Institute (ETSI).
Gail works with all types of emotional and mental difficulties, with particular expertise in dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, panic attacks, eating disorders, phobias, addiction, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, bereavement, OCD, and poor sleep.
She originally trained as a nurse, and then a midwife, working for a number of years both in large teaching hospitals and a GP unit. She has worked in schools helping children with behavioural difficulties and has enhanced CRB clearance. She is also an experienced bereavement counsellor and currently provides clinical supervision to give emotional support to a team of community cancer nurse specialists in a hospice.
Gail finds the Human Givens approach to Counselling and Psychotherapy refreshingly straightforward and effective. Sessions last between 60-75 minutes with the main focus on the current issues in your life and making you feel better immediately. You will also learn new skills and techniques to help you to manage your feelings so that you can take back control of your life. Significant progress and lasting improvements can usually be made within 4-6 sessions (beginning from the very first session) but it is important to give time to more complex longstanding concerns.
Gail has a real enthusiasm for this positive approach to counselling. Her primary aim is to offer effective and practical help in order to enable you to discover a fuller, happier life.
