Daoyin Tao®

What is Daoyin Tao®?

Daoyin Tao® is a Chinese  face, neck and shoulder massage. It is a powerful synergy of softened and adapted Chinese and stylised western massage techniques, harmoniously blended to create a widely applicable therapy. Daoyin Tao® releases trapped and stagnant energy, allowing the body to begin the process of healing itself from within, often at the deepest levels. We all have energy flowing through our body in channels called meridians. Each treatment is tailored to the individual’s needs, using the Chinese five elements to determine which meridians need to be worked. A treatment usually leaves the recipient with a sense of well-being.

Daoyin Tao® has shown itself to:

  • rebalance the body’s rhythms
  • relax
  • reduce stress
  • decongest and detoxify
  • alleviate pain
  • reduce stiffness, muscle tension
  • provide support to all levels of holistic healing
  • positively influence secondary conditions elsewhere in the body

What does a treatment  involve?

On your first visit a detailed medical history will be taken and you will be asked what you would like the treatment to achieve. Then an individual treatment plan can be designed to meet your needs. You will then be asked to lie on the couch after making your shoulders and neck accessible by removing necklaces, earrings, and hair accessories as the contact will be to your shoulders, neck, face, ears and scalp.
Although oil is used we are trained to use a minimal amount so you need not have concerns about your hair.

How long will a treatment take?

A treatment will last 30 minutes with an additional 15minutes consultation before the first session.

How many sessions will I need?

Three to four sessions on a weekly basis may be enough as the effect is cumulative.
Some people then choose to come for monthly top up as the treatment is so enjoyable.

How much does it cost?

A session costs £25.
